Visit a Fish Hatchery while in the Columbia Gorge?
Since 1960, hatchery production has helped the spring Chinook populations recover in the Columbia River. More than two million smolts (young salmon), are released annually.
More than 15 million Tule Fall Chinook salmon are raised each year. Chinook and Coho can be seen spawning locally, particularly in the fall.
